water tower
[above] Trappe's original Pittsburgh Des Moines Steel Co. water tower, erected in 1927 and shown as it appeared from the air in 1973. The tank held about 50,000 gallons of water with the stand pipe holding an additional 20,000 gallons. The tank reportedly arrived by train to Trappe Station and was transported from there to Trappe by wagon.
