The notation on the inside cover in ink reads "Albert B. Willis/ Clora's Point Select School/ Talbot Co./ Md." and on the ffep is written in pencil "Walter C. Willis/ Trappe, Md." and written in a copy of Elements of Surveying and Navigation by Charles Davies published by A.S. Barnes & Co. N.Y. 1858.       I'm not sure what Select School means. Considering the subject matter of the book, it was somewhat more advanced than a primary school. Likely an area "high school" privately funded by locals before THS was established in 1870.
