corn harvest
Harvest of corn, 1965. The field is located 4.5 miles east of Trappe on the west side of Windy Hill Road, about midway between Bambury Cemetery and the village of Bruceville. This was about the last field in the Trappe area to be harvested the old fashioned way where the corn stalks was cut and stacked in "shocks" to finish drying before being husked and shelled, usually by hand.     [Robert Croswell]
