Talbot County Colored Elementary Schools report card for Anna Gibson, Trappe School grade 7 for the school year 1927-1928. Black schools only had seven grades then while white schools had ten. Anna was obviously a "very commendable" student. It is surprising that the County printed separate report cards for the black schools. Not only were the schools segregated then, but the report cards were as well! The school was located east of Scott's church across what is now Rt. 50 next to Paradise Cemetery were Nathan Hopkins is buried. He helped establish the school in the 1878. It was in use until White Marsh Elementary school opened 1957. No photographs of the building have been located.       See also gallery 6, Trappe Area Schools and Education
